Vernon Tech & Media ("VTM," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by Rayvaughn Vernon and based in Katy, Texas, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to www.vernontm.com, our client portal, our forms and landing pages, our email and SMS communications, and any related products or services (together, the "Services").

By using our Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

Information you provide

• Contact & business details: name, business name, email address, phone number, website, social handles, industry, and location.
• Project & account information: details you share on discovery calls, in our client portal, in forms, or in documents you upload (scopes, briefs, notes, agreements).
• Payment information: when you purchase a service or pay an invoice, payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers; we receive limited details such as the last four digits, card brand, and payment status.
• Communications: messages, emails, SMS, call notes, and support requests you send us.
• Event & lead sign-ups: information you submit to register for a webinar, meetup, quiz, download, or newsletter.

Information collected automatically

• Usage & device data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and interactions with our site and emails.
• Cookies and similar technologies: used to run the site, remember preferences, and measure marketing performance (see Section 6).

Information from third parties

• Referrals, publicly available business information, advertising and analytics partners, and integrations you connect (for example, if you grant access to a Google account, calendar, or email inbox to receive our services).

2. How we use your information

• Provide, operate, and improve our Services and client work.
• Communicate with you about projects, appointments, agreements, invoices, and support.
• Process payments and manage subscriptions and recurring billing.
• Send marketing, educational content, and offers where permitted (you can opt out anytime).
• Personalize content and measure the performance of our marketing.
• Maintain security, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable law (such as the GDPR) requires it, we process personal data on these bases: performance of a contract with you; your consent (which you may withdraw); our legitimate interests in running and growing our business; and compliance with legal obligations.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf (Section 5), under contracts that require them to protect it.
• Professional advisors such as accountants and lawyers, where necessary.
• Legal & safety: to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, property, and safety of VTM, our clients, or others.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. Service providers we use

We rely on trusted third parties to deliver our Services. Each has its own privacy policy. They include, among others:

• Stripe — payment processing and subscriptions.
• Supabase — database and file storage / hosting.
• Vercel — website and application hosting.
• MailerLite — email marketing and newsletters.
• Google — email (Gmail), Calendar, and related workspace tools used to deliver services and communicate.
• Analytics and advertising partners — to measure and improve marketing (for example, Meta and Google).

6. Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and measure advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect site functionality. Where required, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies.

7. Email & SMS communications

If you opt in, we may send you text messages from Vernon Tech & Media about your account, projects, and appointments, plus occasional offers. You opt in by providing your mobile number and agreeing on our sign-up form (for example at vernontm.com/sms-consent). Message frequency varies (up to about 6 messages per month). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, and reply HELP, or email support@vernontm.com, for help. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each message. We will still send non-promotional messages related to your account, purchases, or active projects.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except with our messaging provider (Twilio) solely to deliver the messages.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain business and financial records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of marketing, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell it), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of the EU/UK (GDPR) have the rights described above and may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

11. Children's privacy

Our Services are intended for business owners and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-party links

Our site may link to third-party websites and services we do not control. This policy does not apply to them; please review their privacy policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
